Calls and messages
At a glance
- Faxes today
- Faxes emailed since midnight, with how many were sent, are still being retried, or were not sent.
- Pages today
- Pages used today out of your daily limit. The day is counted in your business's time zone.
- Not sent · 7 days
- Faxes in the last week that failed or were refused, with the two commonest reasons.
- First try · 30 days
- How many faxes went through on the first try. A low number usually means a busy or unattended fax machine at the other end.
Underneath, a chart shows the last 14 days: faxes sent, and faxes not sent or refused.
The list
Faxes from the last 30 days, newest first. Search for a fax number written any way (03 7000 0000 or +61370000000), a sender, a subject or a file name, or pick dates. The buttons above the list show only faxes that were Sent, are Retrying, were Not sent or Refused, each with how many there are. Export CSV downloads what the list shows.
- Sent
- Every page went through.
- Waiting or Retrying
- It hasn't gone yet. A busy line or no answer is tried again 5 minutes later, up to 3 tries.
- Not sent
- All 3 tries failed, or the number can't take faxes. The reason says why, for example "no answer" or "the number isn't connected".
- Refused
- We didn't try, because the email couldn't be faxed: for example no PDF or more than one attached, more than 20 pages, or the daily page limit reached.
The sender always gets an email back saying what happened.
How to see what happened to a fax
- Open Fax.
- Click the fax in the list.
- Read the steps: the email arriving, the sender check, the PDF read, each try and its result, and the reply sent. Call timeline on a try shows that call step by step.
- Download the original PDF or the fax image if you need them, then click Close.
If fax sending is off
The Fax tab shows only while fax sending is on. Your earlier faxes are still there: open Settings → Integrations → Email to fax and click View sent faxes.
