What the AI is allowed to do
This is the real difference, and it is in BE Hub's code rather than a policy setting. BE Hub's AI investigates read-only, writes the exact command it would run and a conclusion with its confidence, and then waits. A named person approves or rejects. The model cannot approve its own proposal, and nothing that changes a machine runs without that approval. If your change-control process asks "who approved that", the answer is always a person's name in the audit trail.
Most RMM tools let scripts and policies change machines on a schedule without a per-change approval; check Atera's own documentation for how it handles approvals today. That is a feature for some teams and a problem for others. BE Hub's comparison with classic RMM and with autonomy-first AI RMM set out the category differences without naming vendors; this page exists because people ask about Atera by name.
What is the same
Monitoring, alerts, remote control, scripts, patching and tickets are in both. BE Hub's agent is about 8 MB, outbound HTTPS only, and firewalls (OPNsense, pfSense), routers (VyOS, Teltonika, OpenWrt), VMware ESXi and ZFS storage sit in the same fleet as the Windows and Linux machines. See platforms.
Moving across
Run BE Hub beside the incumbent for 21 to 30 days on up to 100 machines, read-only, then decide. The RMM Exit page describes the offer and what you get at the end of it. For a smaller team, the free trial is ten machines for 14 days with no card.
